If you are married to an addict, I can help you through therapy.
As difficult as it may be for an addict to struggle with substance abuse, it can be just as or even more difficult for their spouse. Addiction affects relationships deeply, and if you are married to an addict, you may be looking for help, either for your spouse, for yourself, or for the both of you. My name is Linda, and I can provide individual and couples therapy at Serenity4U in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I will treat you with respect and your situation with the sensitivity required.

Substance abuse can create codependency, which is detrimental to marriages and other relationships as well. If you are married to an addict and you are in a codependent relationship, I can look into this issue and empower you with the tools to create and adhere to boundaries. Through mental health services influenced by different therapies, mindfulness, and theories, I am able to offer guidance to help you and/or your spouse meet goals on the recovery journey.
Being married to an addict is not easy. It is common for the spouses of addicts to ask them to get therapy for their disorder, but you should also know that therapy can be useful for you, as well. Therapy can help you understand substance abuse and learn ways you can help as a partner or recover from your own wounds as a result of your spouse’s addiction.
