HOW CAN I HELP?
SERVICES
Offering individuals, couples and families support and guidance for processing a variety of substance use and related mental health issues.
A Medical Definition of Addiction:
“Addiction is a treatable, chronic medical disease involving complex interactions among brain circuits, genetics, the environment, and an individual’s life experiences. People with addiction use substances or engage in behaviors that become compulsive and often continue despite harmful consequences.”
-ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine)
Linda’s Experience:
My experience is that people start using substances to cope… sometimes, it progresses into a substance use disorder. This above definition of addiction describes the medical experience but fails to express the profound complexity of addiction and its emotional or trauma-based roots. So, I will add these truths:
1. Addiction is never your fault.
2. You do have a choice.
3. You do not have to handle it alone.

Why Choose Me?

Judgment-Free Space
Therapy will provide you with insights in a safe and caring way, allowing you to feel comfortable exploring the root causes of your feelings, actions, and thoughts and have support while learning new healthy coping skills. Since I have had to navigate the same learning curve myself, I have nothing but respect, optimism, and gratitude for the therapeutic process.

Experience
Having a lifetime of experience enables me to navigate the intricacies of addiction and recovery with individuals, couples and families. I not only teach foundational steps for entering recovery, but I will also walk with you through your journey well into sobriety for as long as you need. Behavioral and cognitive work helps life feel more manageable, and then, when you are ready, we can do deeper clinical work to address underlying family of origin work, trauma and any other mental health issues.

Building Support
You do not need to do this work alone. We do not get well to be lonely. We get well in hopes of having a rich, joyful and loving life. I will encourage you to learn how to initiate and sustain healthy relationships.
